Great without AI. Superhuman with it.
A tool that only works when the model is good is a bet, not a product. lube has to earn its place with AI switched off. Then AI makes the person using it faster, not the other way around.
Baseline
Great without AI.
- Every capability works with AI switched off.
- Structured capture, delivery evidence, and release records stand on their own.
- Nothing important is gated behind a model call.
With AI
Superhuman with it.
- AI summarizes sentiment and pulls the opportunity out of raw feedback.
- It clusters similar signals so patterns surface faster.
- It drafts, ranks, and explains, so the person moves quicker.
Five rules we hold ourselves to.
The point of AI here is leverage for the person doing the work, on terms you control, without pretending an estimate is a fact.
- 01
The workspace stands on its own
AI is a layer on top of a complete product, not the reason it works. Turn it off and lube is still whole.
- 02
Your provider, your keys
Bring OpenAI, OpenRouter, Anthropic, or a custom endpoint. You choose the model and hold the credentials.
- 03
Your data stays yours
Privacy levels decide what AI is allowed to see. The sensitive default is to send less, not more.
- 04
Estimates are labeled as estimates
Sentiment scores and AI spend are generated and approximate. We show them as evidence to weigh, never as fact.
- 05
Evidence, not scores
AI usage is reported as adoption and cost evidence. It is never a productivity ranking of the people using it.

The honest version
AI in lube is a feature, not the foundation. It speeds people up and surfaces patterns, but it does not decide, it does not score your team, and it never sees more of your data than you allow.
Where AI actually shows up.
Try it with AI off. Then turn it on.
The workspace has to earn its place either way.
