We build tools that make work easier and more fun.

Start with a frustration you already have

The link you copied an hour ago and can’t find. A window that won’t sit at exactly 1920 × 1080 for a recording. Two-factor codes stuck on your phone while you work on your computer. Each app fixes one of these properly, and we put the most care into the parts you touch every day.

We use every one of them, every day

Every app we make is one we open every day ourselves. So we care that it keeps getting better, that it stays fast, and that it’s still looked after years from now. We often run into a problem first, but not always, and when we miss one we’d love to hear about it. We take feedback seriously and we’re building better ways to act on it, so send us a note from inside any of our apps.

Small apps first

Three apps are in private beta on the Mac: Clipboards, Activity Monitor and Security. Resizer is in dogfooding, and Kubernetes Viewer takes early access requests. Most of them are heading to Windows, Linux, iOS and Android, Security’s authenticator to iPhone and Apple Watch, and more apps are on the way.

Then the way products get built

product OS applies the same idea to building products. We’re building it from the problems we’ve run into over decades of shipping software, and we use it on our own products every day, so each one we build teaches it something. It brings the best practices with it and solves the headaches before you meet them, so you can spend your time on products your customers love using, and have fun making them.

What that means in practice

We aim for the best experience we can build. Anything that’s harder than it needs to be, or takes longer than it should, frustrates us as much as it frustrates you, so we keep at it until it doesn’t. Trust is part of that: clips stay on your device, AI access is off until you turn it on, and Security’s codes are encrypted before they sync, so the server only ever stores ciphertext.
